There are few things in life that are better than cuddling up on the sofa in front of a Christmas movie but there’s always a debate about which ones are the best and what qualifies as a Christmas film (no, Die Hard is NOT included in this list). When it comes to movies, there are 3 that stick in my mind as my favourites and I wanted to share them with you.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
Jim Carrey is a fantastically diverse actor and this is one of his top roles in my opinion. Cindy Lou Who is the essence of Christmas cheer and makes me feel like a better person by just watching the film. This has been my favourite movie since I was a child and I think everyone should have to watch it at least once; if you don’t love it then you don’t have a heart.
Love Actually
Now, everyone has surely seen Love Actually and everyone has in turn decided they hate Keira Knightley and Alan Rickman (honestly, how could he do that?!) and crying because Liam Neeson is so pure. It’s a film that contains a wonderful amount of well known faces, love, heartache and general wonderful-ness. It’s definitely on my ‘to watch’ list every year and is a good one to have on with a glass of mulled wine and Christmas lights glowing.
Elf
There isn’t really a need to explain why this is in my top 3 but I’m going to as that’s what a blog post is meant to do. If there was anything that truly showed the magic of Christmas, it’s Will Ferrell’s character – the purity and sheer joy that he brings is enough to melt the coldest of hearts.
That’s my 3 favourite Christmas movies in a nutshell. What are your top 3? Leave me a comment and let me know.
