You didn’t think I’d do a whole month of posts without a little tag or two did you? Here’s a festive Christmas tag for a bit of fun! If you do your own Christmas tag then be sure to leave me a link in the comments so I can check out your answers, now on with the post…
What’s your favourite holiday movie?
It has to be How The Grinch Stole Christmas. It’s been a firm favourite of mine since I was a child and still is an absolute classic. Cindy Lou Who just is the spirit of Christmas for me, I always wanted to live in Whoville too. Plus, you’ve got to love a good Dr Seuss story, rhymes galore! I really hope it’s one that George learns to love as he grows up because Charlie isn’t a fan and I need another person on my side.
What’s your favourite Christmas colour?
Some form of dark green, like Christmas tree colour! I’m not a big fan of red, especially on myself as the slightest change in temperature (hot or cold) and my face looks like a tomato so it really isn’t my thing. But I love an earthy green something really natural and dark.
Do you like to stay in your PJs or dress up for Christmas?
If I had my choice I’d stay in my PJs all day, but we have people coming over throughout the day so I think it would be a bit rude if I didn’t get dressed. There’s no glitzy ensemble or anything but I do like to at least put a face on for when people arrive.
If you could only buy one person a present this year, who would it be?
Charlie – he puts up with SO much of my shit that he deserves the world really. That said… His birthday is Christmas Eve so he already gets double presents…
Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Who opens presents on Christmas Eve? That’s not in the rules! Stockings are in the morning and then presents are throughout the day and depending on when people arrive and leave.
Have you ever build a gingerbread house?
I don’t think I have… To be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of gingerbread so I’ve probably always just given it a miss. Although, as George gets older it’s definitely something that I’d like to start doing.
What do you like to do on your Christmas break?
Just try and relax as much as I can – I don’t know how this is going to be possible with a one year old but I guess we’re going to find out! I normally also like to eat copious amounts of chocolate but I’m trying to dial it down on that this year.
Any Christmas wishes?
A few! Funnily enough, I’ve already done it as a Blogmas post so to find out the answer to this questions click here.
Favourite Christmas smell?
Although we have an artificial tree, I do love the smell of a real tree. Either that or when the Christmas dinner comes out of the oven.
Favourite Christmas meal or treat?
I find picking favourites of food really difficult (go figure…) but I think I would have to say pigs in blankets. Little bundles of joy! Apologies to any vegetarian or vegan readers.
Which holiday do you celebrate?
We celebrate Christmas but not in the religious sense.
What are you doing for the holidays this year?
We’ll have my family over in the morning for presents and a drink and then Charlie’s family come over in the early afternoon for lunch and presents, that’s pretty much it! Some people will have a bit too much champagne and food – it’s me… I’m some people…
What’s your favourite holiday drink?
Bucks Fizz – champagne and orange juice, heaven in a glass!
Candy cane or gingerbread men?
Can I say neither? I don’t like gingerbread and I’m not really fond of minty sweets. Hand me a chocolate orange!
What’s your favourite holiday/Christmas song?
We were discussing this in work the other day actually! Mine is definitely Last Christmas by Wham – George Michael’s hair in the video is fab-u-lous and it’s just generally a classic.
What’s the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
I don’t think I have ever received a weird gift thankfully!
Have you ever made a snowman?
I have indeed, on a couple of occasions – not going to lie, it wasn’t worth it for having freezing cold hands.
What is your favourite winter fragrance?
Is this not the same as smell? Or do they mean perfume? Regardless of the time of year I wear Lady Million by Paco Rabbane so I guess that’s it.
What is at the top of your list this Christmas? (or whichever holiday you celebrate!)
A lie in! Any parents reading this will relate, I’m sure.
What is most important to you about the holidays?
I guess that we get to see our families and that everyone is happy. I’ve found that since we’ve had George that my tolerance for shitty behaviour between family members has significantly reduced so keeping my boys happy is my main priority.
That’s it! Some strange questions in there at points but I hope you enjoyed a little look into my mind and how I feel about Christmas. Like I said, if you do this tag too, be sure to leave me the link so I can check it out.
