I love a good set of tag questions! Normally they’re done in a YouTube video but I’m not a fan of being in front of the camera, especially talking so I’ve taken the questions and put them into a blog post for you. Enjoy!
– What’s his name? George Edmund
– How old is he? 15 weeks old
– Is he an only child? Yes
– Do you plan on having another child after him? I would definitely like another one, but jeez giving birth is difficult! I don’t think it’ll be for a few years yet, give me a bit of time to adjust to motherhood.
– How was the delivery process? Tough but the best thing I’ve ever done! Check out my Labour & Delivery Story for the full details.
– Can you imagine going through it again, or would you? Yes, now I’ve done it once, if I were to have another I think I would be much more at ease about the whole thing. Knowing the amazing pay off you get at the end makes it all worth it.
– What’s his birth date and time? He was born at 3.52am on the 23rd of November 2018.
– How much did your baby weigh at birth? 9lb 7oz – ouch!
– What personality characteristics did he/she obtain from you? It’s really difficult to say as he is still changing – probably the fact that he’s really grumpy when he gets woken from a nap!
– What about the other parent? He is his dad’s mini-me, he knows how to wrap me round his little finger and has a super cheeky little smile.
– What do you enjoy doing most with your baby? Anything and everything – if I had to pick one thing it would be baby classes (baby sensory, jiggy wrigglers). It’s a bit of structure for him and different toys than those we have at home, plus it’s great to be around other mums that understand what you’re going through.
– What have you struggled with? I honestly don’t know where to start with this question. Feeding was a big issue and the beginning, but mostly I struggle with accepting that not everything has to be perfect. I’ve had this idea of motherhood in my head for such a long time and the expectations I had were a bit of a stretch. Although I know that no-one is perfect, I still feel like a bit of a failure at the end of nearly every day. I’m still struggling with this at the moment but it is getting a little better each day.
– How does it feel to be a new parent? Amazing, terrifying, humbling, heartbreaking… It depends what day you ask me really!
– Can you introduce us to your baby/do a nursery or room tour? He always appears on my Instagram stories so make sure you follow me to keep up to date with him. Let me know if you want me to show you around his nursery too.
I hope you all enjoyed learning a bit more about my new parent experience so far! Leave me a comment and let me know about how your found your feet as a first time parent and if you do this tag too then send me your links so I can check them out.
